The surface of the bare concrete should be processed to a visually matte finish. This ensures good mechanical bonding. This also removes residual material or contaminants that would prevent good bonding. Wax and form release agents leave traces to the surface of the concrete during casting, and must be removed before sealing.
Use wet sanding, dry sanding or acid etching.
Rinse the surface thoroughly with clean water and wipe dry. Let dry to the air.
CRTE OneStep Sealer Matte Application
CRTE OneStep Sealer Matte will be applied at least four times.
Dampen a microfiber cloth or sponge with clean water.
Mix approximately 150ml CRTE OneStep Sealer Matte and clean water in a ratio of 1:1 in a mixing cup. Apply to the surface and keep wet for 15 minutes. Wipe off the surface and let dry for at least 30 minutes. Store microfiber cloth or sponge in a plastic container or bag.
Add some more CRTE OneStep Sealer Matte to the mixing cup and keep surface wet with this mixture for 10 minutes. Wipe off the surface and let dry. Store microfiber cloth or sponge in a plastic container or bag.
Let the surface cure overnight.
The next day keep the surface wet with CRTE OneStep Sealer Matte for 1-2 minutes. Wipe off the surface and let dry for at least 30 minutes. Store microfiber cloth or sponge in a plastic container or bag.
Repeat this step two to four times until result is as needed.
Let surface cure at least two days before caulking seams. Rinse the soapy water used to smoothen the caulk, directly after finishing the caulk. This can cause stains. After one week CRTE OneStep Sealer Matte will cured and reaches optimum protection.
Maintenance
Clean with water and mild soap or cleaning vinegar regularly. Soft abrasive cleaning sponges can be used.
The CRTE OneStep Sealer Matte guarantees stain resistance for up to 72 hours. It is advised remove any dirt within that time. Failing to do so will degrade the performance of the sealer. Keep in mind: oils, grease and solvents should be removed as soon as possible, but at least within 8 hours from concrete surface.
